NY Mag Strategist: What’s the Next Status Chocolate Bar?

I am not sure I believe the basic premise, that status is conferred/earned by a chocolate bar’s wrapper. And, while the three examples given here are interesting, the article spends no time talking about bars from other parts of the world that are readily available to New Yorkers and Angelenos.
