When you are going through your busy life, it can be hard to take care of your teeth throughout the day. While it is easy to remember to brush your teeth in the morning and before you go to bed there are plenty of times when you just aren’t able to get to a toothbrush during the middle of the day. However, the food you eat and the drinks you drink will have a big impact on your oral health. It is important to learn which drinks are good and bad for your teeth.

Water (Good)

Water is a great drink that will help keep your teeth clean throughout the day. One of the biggest reasons that teeth start to decay is the food that is stuck on them throughout the day. Water will help get rid of the build-up after meals on the go when you aren’t able to brush. Most public water supplies are infused with fluoride, too. Fluoride will help your teeth stay strong and fight off cavities. The more water you drink, the healthier you will be overall. Water can also help to restore a healthy PH balance in your mouth that will lower mouth bacteria and plaque.

Chai Tea (Good)

One of the many chai tea benefits is that it is a good alternative to traditional teas that will stain your teeth. When you are drinking chai tea on a regular basis, you will not have to worry about getting a brown or yellow tint to your teeth. Instead, you will actually be able to strengthen your teeth just like you would with milk without having to worry about any stains.

Milk (Good)

Milk creates strong bones and your teeth are the only bones on your body that you are showing off to the world. The more milk you drink, the harder it will be to have a chipped tooth or other dental injuries. The calcium in milk will also help to strengthen tooth enamel which fights against cavities. You will, however, want to stay away from flavored milk. While strawberry and chocolate milk might be very tasty, there is very much added sugar in these types of milk. Regular milk is going to be the best option when it comes to oral health.

Vegetable Juice (Good)

Dark green vegetables have B vitamins which will help to fight off any bacteria in your mouth that is hard to get rid of. When you are buying vegetable juices, make sure that you are buying juice that is low in sugar. As long as you are purchasing organic natural vegetable juice, you will be improving not only your oral health but the health of your whole body. Sports Drinks (Bad)

Many people think that sports drinks are going to be much healthier for you than soda. While this is somewhat true, there is still so much sugar in a sports drink. Make sure that you are only drinking sports drinks on certain occasions. If you are drinking sports drinks, you need to try to brush your teeth right after you have had this drink. Sugar-free sports drinks can be a good alternative to the high-sugar sports drinks that you are used to drinking.

Soda (Bad)

Soda is just about one of the worst drinks for your health other than hard liquor. One of the leading causes of tooth decay is refined sugar. Soda has a great deal of refined sugar that will keep you from having healthy teeth. Quitting soda can be a very difficult thing to do. However, you need to make sure that you are staying healthy and quitting soda is one way to push towards that. The less soda that you drink, the healthier your mouth will be. Diet soda can be a great alternative to the very sugary colas that are normally available.

As long as you are conscious of the drinks you are drinking, you will not have a big problem with your dental health. Remember, you can drink the bad drinks from time to time. You just want to make sure that you do not become addicted to them.
